Born in London UK, Jerome Olivier was raised in the French Canadian province of Quebec from the age of six, moving back and forth between Europe and Canada.
Graduating university with a BFA in filmmaking, Jerome landed in Japan on what was to be the first leg of his globetrotting. After only a few months, he was taken with the idea of pursuing a career in Tokyo and decided to stay.
"Making Japan my home, I realized, gave me the chance to strip away the sense of security generated by familiar surroundings, to remove myself from the conventions I'd grown accustomed to," he reflected. "It was the perfect opportunity to test myself, to discover what I was capable of doing without relying on traditional systems."
For the first 5 years, Jerome Olivier worked in various production and design companies, developing the necessary artistic and language skills needed before starting Speaking Pictures. From there, he built a list of clients ranging from Louis Vuitton, Nike, YKK, Mitsubishi and Miss Universe Japan.
So far, it's been a great adventure.
While working on various commercial jobs, he is currently developing a feature length script while looking for investors interested in seeing more of his work produced.
