Updates
20 November 2006
Took a break from writiing and decided to clean up the design of the site. Also, one of the folks I work with asked if I could cut a trailer for Missing Pages and I decided to put it up on my site instead of the 7 minute preview which took up too much bandwidth anyways.
I've been debating on how to get Missing Pages (amended version) out to the general public and have settled for on the podcast. Starting January 1st and continuing for two consecutive Mondays, I will release Missing Pages as a podcast in three parts. More information on this will follow shortly.
In the meantime, enjoy the trailer.

October
17 October 2006
Just a quick note:
As some of you have noted, the blog hasn't seen any updates for a while. I want to apologize, but right now I need to apply as much energy to writing my next screenplay as possible. Until that's done, the blog will remain very quiet. If you still want to view "Missing Pages (amended version)," make sure to check out the this page of this site for more info.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dawson College
15 September 2006
I wanted to send out my thoughts to the victims, friends, families and staff of those affected by the Dawson College shooting on Wednesday, the 13th, in Montreal, Canada. I spent two great years at Dawson college, especially my time at the New School program, and find it unbelieveable that someone could be so numb as to go on a shooting rampage there.
I hope the community and college heals quickly and finds peace in all the turmoil. My thoughts remain with those in critical condition.

Got an email yesterday from The Cackalacky Film Festival letting me know Missing Pages had been accepted. Anyone in North Carolina, this one's for you! Support your local film festival and your local film makers (and check out Missing Pages while you're at it, of course!).
All the best to Dutch Stamey and his crew and a personal thank you for accepting Missing Pages.

Azabu-Juban & American Artist Film Festival
13 September 2006
The move to Azabu-Juban, or "The Juban" as it's often refered to, went by without a hitch. With the work space all figured out, it's been back to business for the past 10 days. Just finished two jobs, one for Jaeger LeCoultre (the watch company) and another for Loewe (the hand bag designers).
Meanwhile, some good news came in today. Missing Pages (amended version) has been accepted to the American Artist Film Festival (AAFF). This marks the 23rd film festival the project has been accepted to. Keep 'em comin', Baby! Keep 'em comin'!
In the meantime, I need to continue writing the screenplay. "Write" has become my mantra... WRITE!... WRITE!... WRITE!...
I keep remembering what my English Lit. teacher told me when I was trying to conjure up excuses for my constant procrastination while insisting I was going to grow up to be a writer, "Writers write, Jerome! You procrastinate!"
Urgh!!! "Procrastinator" and "loser" are synonyms that give me goose bumps. Talk about an unattractive family of descriptive nouns!

Closing down Mejiro office
28 August 2006
August will mark the end of my office in Mejiro. It is both a sad and promising time for me as I prepare to make the jump to Los Angeles. I've spent countless hours working here, and it will be strange not having my private work space in Tokyo. At the same time, seeing as the building I'd set up my office in is an old and dillapitated structure, it might be wise to move out before the next great earth quake.
In the interim, I'll be moving my equipment to my apartment in Azabu-Juban and plan on working from there until I make the final move to LA. Hopefully, that wont take too long...

Changes to the Site
28 August 2006
I've added a few things to the site to make it more comprehensive. There's now a section for Coin Laundry, a short film I made in 2001 as well as a compilation of some of my motion graphics work. Hope you enjoy it.
Also the web log has been redesigned to fit better with the rest of the site. There are advantages to doing it this way, but also some drawbacks. For one, this is a simple HTML web page, so it wont be possible to post anymore, nor will there be the ability to subscribe to the blog. I want to aologize to all of those who have already done so, but since I am not a programer, it is too difficult for me to figure out how to code a blog to have this look & feel.
I will also have to manually transfer all of my previous blogs to this new page (which will rpobably take a few days).
I hope that the advantages will outweigh the disandvantages.
Thank you for your understanding.

August 9th update
09 August 2006
Been a while since I’ve updated, so here’s a little info for those interested.
Missing Pages has racked in 9 awards out of the 15 festivals we’ve been at so far. Not bad. Back in school, that would give me a 60% grade average just baAarely passing my film 101…
Well, the next round of festivals include some really big hits that will stretch Missing Pages’ reach quite far. The Raindance Film Festival is England’s biggest independent film festival and wow! the jury will include Lou Reed, Dame Judi Dench, Anton Corbijn, Matthew Libatique, Marky Ramone, Parminder Nagra, Oli Harbottle, Christelle Randall, Graham Bendell, Kevin Macdonald and Sarah Cooke. The most impressive line-up of jury members I’ve heard of so far!
Also, the Pusan Internation Film Festival is one of Asia’s biggest film festivals and should be a blast. This will mark our first official competition in the Asian market.
We’ve finally made it down under with the Australian International Film Festival. I’ve been in contact with these guys and they are a great bunch of people really friendly!
I’ll try to post more info on a regular basis, but need to run off to a meeting, so will cut this one short.

3 more awards!
25 June 2006
Wow! It’s already been a month since I’ve written anything in my blog.
Well, after returning from LA, I was slammed with work and realize I’m just as behind on my emails and general correspondances. I must look like a jerk to quite a few people. Oops!
Generally, things went very well in LA - I met a lot of great people and am now determined to nail a feature length screenplay of Missing Pages before November of this year. That doesn’t leave me with a lot of time, so I’ll be pretty busy with that.
In the meantime, “Missing Pages (amended version)” continues to collect more awards. Our second award on the west coast of the United States was granted to us through Seattle’s True Independent Film Festival. Also, our first Canadian award was granted to us through the Winnipeg International Film Festival. Our first European award was granted to us thanks to Neil & Justin who run Filmstock out in Luton, UK.
I’ll be submitting Missing Pages to more festivals in the near future while still looking for a way to release it on DVD.
More information in the coming weeks.
Thanks to everyone for your support.

28 April 2006
OK. I’m getting back to updating my site after the Miss Universe Japan pageant with three more festival announcements! Southside Film Festival
16 April 2006
More good news! Going out to grab some lunch today, I found an early notice letter from the Southside Film Festival accepting Missing Pages. WooHoo! Looks like we’ll be in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania this June 15th to 18th.
I know there were quite a few fans in that area who wanted to see the film. This will be a great chance for them to catch the film on the big screen.
On behalf of the entire staff and cast of Missing Pages, I would like to send my warmest thanks to the jurors of the Southside Film Festival. Also, our warmest thanks to the other nine festival juries who have already accepted our short (plus the other two that need to remain anonymous for the moment).
Thank you!

09 April 2006
WooHoo! Got an email from Tracey M. Rowatt, the founder & curator of the Forest Film Festival that reads, “Thank you for submitting your animated short “Missing Pages” to the Forest Film Festival, Portland annual short film and video event held at the historic Clinton Street Theater.
“I am very excited to inform you that your film has been screened, judged and scored by our festival judges and its officially been nominated for “Best Short Animation.” Your film will be showcased on Saturday, May 20, during the 5:00PM Animation Showtime.”
Thank you, Mrs. Rowatt!
This is a very exciting time for me. A lot is happening in the background and I’m finally seeing, after 10 years of effort, my life & career move in the direction I always wanted.
Who could ask for a better birthday present?!

March & April
30 March 2006
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I’ve been busy working on jobs to help pay the bills. Starting next Monday, I’ll be working full time on the 2006 Miss Universe Japan pageant which takes place April 25th. Until then, things will probably be a little slow on this site.
There are things happening in the background I can’t speak of yet. Exciting updates will follow shortly. Stay tuned!
